A co-product from the manufacture of whiskey. EORNASYRUP comprises mainly of yeast cells and residues from the malted barley after alcohol is distilled off the fermented wort by high temperature in copper stills.

Feeding Rates

Beef Cattle Flexible in the way it may be offered with maximum feed rates being:

Beef - Young Stock 0-1kg/hd/day

Beef - Stores 2-3kg/hd/day

Beef- Finisher 4-5kg/hd/day

Suckler Cattle Has successfully been used as the sole ‘concentrate’ feed for in-calf suckler cows on a straw diet. Additional energy may be required after calving

Dairy Cows Can be fed in diet feeders. In concentrated mixes or torugh feeders with maximum levels being 3.5-5kg/hd/day

Handling & Storage

Eornasyrup is delivered in bulk liquid tankers. Tanks should be built to hold and dispatch bulk liquids. They should be cleaned out regularly to prevent a build-up of sediment. 4 inch diameter pipework is adequate.
